Ford Models
- Find a picture of your model striking an interesting pose.
- Tell us your favorite color and why its your favorite color.
My favorite color is black. My coloring is blond and blue eyed, and I look very dramatic in black when I wear it. The contrast goes very well together. Even in my apartment, most of the furniture I have is smoked (black) glass and chrome. While I like other colors as well, black is a standout color for me.

- Find a picture of your model smiling.
- Tell us why it is important to smile.
A wise friend of mine always says that what you are in your heart always shows on your face. For me, that translates into a smile. I can always tell when people are mean-spirited because their face shows it, and it usually comes from within. A smile makes the face bright, and shows others that you have a good heart. One can always fake a smile, it's true. But, it should be as real as possible. Of course, one doesn't always feel like smiling, and it's not necessary all the time, but the importance of a smile shows that not only do others see your face looking bright, but you feel that way inside as well. It's good medicine, even if you don't feel like smiling.

- Find a picture of your model in an advertisement.
- Tell us what is more important in your opinion; being in advertisements or editorials and why.
Well, an editorial tends to be more edgy, different, or avant-garde, while an advertisement ( or commercial photo), tends to represent a product and be more mainstream. I believe a little bit of both is necessary for the fashion world. A model gets very well known, with more "commercial" work such as advertisements, while, of course, an editorial seems richer, and allows the model to show a certain amount of creativity. So, therefore, I feel a bit of both is necessary in the industry. On a personal note, I prefer an editorial, because it would allow for that little bit of edge.
Trump Models
- Find a picture of your model wearing fur.
- Do you think fur should be an allowed material for clothing? Why or why not?
This is a very touchy subject for me. The answer is a definite NO. I am a devout animal lover. I don't believe that fur should be used for any reason...commercial, entertainment, clothing, etc. The rights that we as humans have, are the same rights that animals have...to be able to live their life peacefully and without being at the hands of poachers, or animal hunters. Animals feel pain, and they are brutally tortured for many different reasons. (ivory tusks, fur, etc.)
Enough said, I could go on forever. The answer will and always should be NO for the use of fur for anyone's gain.
New York Models
- Find a picture of your model in the city.
- Do you think models living in large citites to begin with have an advatange at being discovered? Why or why not?
No, not necessarily do I feel that a person living in a big city who wants to be a model has a better shot at it. Lana Turner, an old-time very popular actress, was discovered in California at Schwab's Drugstore, where many wanna-be actors and actresses hung out. If it's going to happen, it will, no matter where you are at, I believe. However, with modeling, a lot of influential people are headquartered in big cities, so it is important to follow your dream and go where it's best to possibly be discovered.
Women
- Find a picture that makes your model look like a good mother.
- Would having children help or hurt you as a model? Why?
Sitting by the lake enjoying the day. My little girl didn't want to take a picture, but I said we needed to, which is why she looks so sad.
I don't believe that children can hurt anyone. Many models today, are having children, more than ever, because they want to. Having a child is a blessing at any time for any one who would like to have one. All the models that I've read about who have children, are the happiest and proudest mothers...Isabeli Fontana, Kate, and of course, now one of my favorite models, Alessandra Ambrosio is due very shortly for her baby. And, their modeling careers can continue, as well. It simply depends on the person. But, to answer the question....NO, I don't think children can hurt a modeling career.
Karin Models
- Find a picture that makes your model look foreign (clothing, scenery, make-up, ect.)
- Do foreign looks help or hurt models who are trying to model in the United States? Why or why not?
Many models today are from foreign countries, and they are some of my favorite models. Of course, as in any industry, I'm sure that there are certain biases towards other countries. I think that a different look is very edgy, and can be very beautiful. I like mixtures of races in people, and I like a different look. It seems that the industry is taking well to those models of other countries...(India, South America, China, etc.) So hopefully, models from other countries won't be shunned because of their different look.
Wilhelmina Models
- Find a picture of your model looking like a model from a dream (fantasy themed)
- Do you think high fashion shots or commercial shots attract the majority of the people in the United States? Why?
Interesting question....In the United States, I think that "commercial shots" go farther. For one reason, when an average person sees a commercial shot, they identify better with the shot. A high fashion shoot is more out of reach, because it's more difficult to obtain the look of higher fashion. A commercial shot, say one that represents a product, makes that product sell quicker, and the model representing the product, also become more popular. However, though, again, it's a personal taste.
IMG Models
- Find a picture of your model wearing fancy clothing.
- Is expensive clothing needed to show a good model? Why or why not?
I don't believe expensive clothing is needed to show a good model because if you're good, you're good wearing "nothing"...(No pun intended). Expensive clothing helps you to look nice, but it depends on what the shoot is asking for. You can look nice in jeans and a top too. So, no, I don't think that expensive clothing shows a good model. The "good" in the model, comes from within.
Boss Models
- Find a picture of your model wearing professional clothing (work-like clothing)
- If modeling did not work out, what job would you go for andwhy?
If modeling did not work out, I would be a teacher. I love children, and I would love to be able to make a difference in their lives.
Fusion Models
- Find a colorful picture with your model in it.
- Who is the person you look up to most as a model and why?
There are really many models that I look up to for different reasons. However, as I read more and more about models, I've come to the conclusion that I'm liking Fernanda Tavares more and more. One reason in particular, is that she is against the use of fur as well for clothing and for use by models. I've read that Anna Wintour, herself, won't hire her because she won't wear fur. That says something about Fernanda's character. So, she is definitely someone that I would call a role model.
Major Models
- Find a picture that emphasizes your model's hair.
- Why do you want to model?
I want to model because I love fashion. I try to be up-to-date on all the latest from makeup to footwear. I'm interested in designers, make-up artists, and all aspects of fashion and beauty.
I know it seems like a glamorous life, but it really isn't for some, as evidenced recently by Ruslana Korshunova, a beautiful model who was terribly unhappy ...enough to commit suicide. It may not happen often, thank goodness, but it's something to think about. Yet, even though, I still think the good outweighs the bad, and the modeling industry is a wonderful venue to continue to learn about and enjoy your craft.
Fashion Management
- Find a picture of your model wearing clothing that you would never see outside of the fashion industry.
- What would you wear traveling? Professional clothing? Comfortable clothing? ect...and why.
If I were traveling, I'd wear comfortable clothing, but yet have pieces with me to fit every occasion. One never knows what they may encounter. Comfortable clothing is much more "me" and higher fashion is my job. So, I'd combine everything when I travel to always be ready when needed.
While the above outfit I chose, is very high fashion, I chose to represent it as something you wouldn't wear outside of the industry, because many cannot afford it. It's not that nobody would wear it, but comfortable clothing is definitely easier on the budget.
Eye for I
- Find a runway shot of your model.
- Compare how you walk on a runway to how you walk in everyday life.
On the runway, the walk is a "strut"...high kick walking, and of course making very certain you do not fall. In everyday life, the walk is much more laid back, and easy. Of course, you're walking at your own leisure. On the runway, you have to look calm, walk steady, and of course at a rather fast pace, not to mention very CONFIDENT.
WhyNot
- Find a song. Then, find a picture of your model that could possibly go with the song in a music video.
- Tell us your favorite song and why you like it so much.
(Kate is the model on the left as you look at the picture).
The song I chose was "I Kissed a Girl" by Katy Perry. I was reading an article the other day about advertisements featuring Gay/Lesbian couples, and how it was underrepresented in the modeling industry. I thought it was interesting. There have been a few commercials on television and print ads that have shown the concept and versatility of same gender representation, and I think that it's an important issue now, especially with the new laws going into effect regarding same sex partners and partnerships. So, I hope I haven't offended anybody. Katy Perry's video on YouTube, is very interesting. Try to check it out.
As to my favorite song, I have tons...so hard to narrow down, but I'm really liking "Bleeding Love" by Leonna Lewis. As of now, that's a very favorite song of mine. I like it because it discusses lost love, and how much it hurts. I think that many can relate to the song because most have been touched by that feeling.
